LOAN LIMITS AND PERIODS


HOW DO I BORROW ITEMS?

You can borrow library materials in person via the Loans and Services Desk in the Alyangula Community Library. Membership cards are kept secure in the Library and only your surname and first name is necessary to retrieve your Library Number. A form of identification may be required.



HOW MANY ITEMS CAN BE BORROWED AT A TIME?


All patrons - Twelve items and 3 videos/DVDs



WHAT ARE THE LOAN PERIODS?

Books

- Two weeks

Magazines
Latest issues - Available for viewing at Library premises only
Back copies - One week

Videos / DVDs

New releases - Must be returned during the next Library opening hours
Others - One week



WHERE DO I RETURN ITEMS?

Items should be returned on or before the due date. A Return Slot is provided on the Loans and Services Desk near the entrance of Alyangula Community Library. If possible, items should be returned directly to the Librarian on duty at the Loans and Services Desk.



HOW DO I RENEW ITEMS?

Some items on loan may be renewed for a further period if not requested by another borrower. Items may be renewed through the Loans and Services Desk.



HOW DO I PLACE A RESERVATION ('HOLD')?

Any item(s) on loan may be reserved at the Loans and Services Desk. When the item(s) is/are returned, patrons will be notified via phone or email to pick up their requested item(s).



WHAT HAPPENS TO OVERDUE ITEMS?

Failure to return or renew a borrowed item by the due date may result in a fine and/or loss of borrowing privileges. If an item is not returned after receiving an Overdue Notice, the borrower will be billed for the replacement cost of the item, including an administrative processing fee. Sanctions will apply until the debt is cleared.
