Jon Johnson


Jon is reponsible for providing leadership, development and management of the library's services and to meet the objectives, primarily the learning, teaching and research needs of the Alyangula Area School.
         
         
COMMUNITY LIBRARY OFFICERS:

Kelly Slater and Yvonne Medel


Kelly and Yvonne are responsible for the supervision and coordination of all library duties, including the cataloguing of materials, lending services, locating information and resources, providing instruction on how to use the Internet and online Library Catalogue, answer any questions about the services and resources of the library, refer people to information sources beyond the library such as online resources, shelving and preservation of the library collection.

OTHER DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • To provide the community with a well stocked and up to date library
  • Manage the N.T. Library Book and Magazine Grant
  • Cataloguing of books
  • Cover and mend books as required
  • Liaise with the State Reference Library to obtain reference books or information
  • Attend in-service courses as arranged from time to time in Darwin
  • Provide a customer service
  • Supervise and assist children in computer usage and school holiday activities
  • General administrative duties
  • Provide Northern Territory Library Services with a monthly statisticals and evaluative report
  • Provide the community with materials not available locally through the Territory-wide inter-library loan service
  • Look after stock provided by Northern Territory Library Services and to arrange for its return to Northern Territory Library Services when damaged, worn out or no longer required for other reasons
