Welcome to Pine Creek Community Library
Located 220km south of Darwin.
Pine Creek Library
The community is serviced by the Pine Creek Community Government Council. The town population is around 400. The town is also a centre for the surrounding stations and Aboriginal communities. The Anglgold mine at Pine Creek was the main employer of the town which closed in August 2003. The town has a long history in mining.

The Library and the Museum share the same facility. The building was moved to Pine Creek in 1913 from Burrundie and was the home of the mining warden. In the war years it was used as a hospital and chemist. After the war, it was known as the Post Office and Telephone Exchange. The building is now a National Trust property and is listed on the National Heritage Register.

The Library has over 1,000 items in the collection and a computer that can be used for word processing and the Internet. The service goes out to mining camps and to the home bound.
