Wadeye Welcomes You
Welcome to Wadeye Library and Knowledge Centre which is 240 km south west of Darwin.
Wadeye Library and Knowledge Centre is located in the Rural Transaction Centre in the main street. The library has a collection of indigenous books and multimedia resources, plus books in local language. Other items in the collection include picture books, educational toys, cds and dvds, fiction books, non fiction books, magazines and reference books.

There is an extensive range of historical and cultural data on the data base. The most popular items are the historical photographs and the music collection. The music collection is linked to iTunes and the collection is loaded onto a large external hard drive. People make their own selections of songs. There can even be a selection of traditional and modern local bands music.
The Photographic Collection has historical images from the start of the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mission in 1935 to the present day. The are also images of open public ceremonies, bush foods and images of different local areas. Family photographs are always popular. The data base also has a program with familiy trees so that people can trace their ancestry.
